Production Log 3
Entry Log 3
This week we started filming our advert, on the Tuesday back after everyone was free we decided to pick up the equipment and go and film the advert which we had failed to do last week due to various reasons. We filmed all of our shots in one go at our first chosen location which was Henuilt forest which was not far from our Sixth form, we travelled by car and back and we completed the filming in two hours. A problem occurred beforehand which was the cloak that we ordered from Ebay was suppose to be part of our costume did not fit the character and was too small for him, this meant we had to come up with a back up plan which was to dress him in all black still representing the 'Ghost Face' character.
On Wednesday we booked the editing equipment out (IMac) for : Wednesday,Thursday,Friday.
The goal we had given ourselves before we started the project was to finish by this Friday so we decided to spare our free time and edit as much as we could so we reach out own deadline. Editing was suppose to be done on I-Movie HD but we decided to to go for a better and more detailed software to edit on which was Final Cut Pro. The editing was straightforward as we knew how to use to Final Cut Pro software to a basic ability such as cutting the clips and placing them on the time line, after we had completed the placing we inserted some music clips which we played around with picking out the best audio clips to fit our advert. The problem which we had faced this week was during editing, the first problem was that we wanted to add a close up of the ghost face character but we had not filmed this so we decided to use a extra clip which we had not used and crop into the characters face more which looked like a close up, this was successful and we overcame the problem. Another problem which we faced was the voice over which narrated the slogan of our product, the audio clip had a slight echo in the back which did not sound clear. We decided to play about with the audio effects in Final cut but nothing could be done to reduce the echo in he background as this was something wrong with the original clip, in the end we decided to re-record the voice over and it worked better. Finally we had completed editing our advert on Friday meaning we had met our own deadline, our advert was checked by our teachers and given positive reviews by our fellow students.

This week was half term meaning we had a week off our normal subjects, this week we had planned to film most of our shots and we had informed our characters the day we had planned to film. The first challenge we filmed this week was that the day everyone was free to film, the weather was very bad and rainy on a Tuesday which meant we had to re schedule for later that week. The weather was pretty bad during the week and it did not get better, the only day which me and my partner Aaron were free the characters were busy as they had exam preparation. We decided to go out and film pack shots and also to visit the location Henuilt forest and make sure it was a good place to film. Overall not much progress was made this week due to different reasons.
Now that we had fallen behind on our pre planned dates we had arranged an after school shoot with the characters on the first day back, we will shoot everything we need to next week (Monday) and also start editing as we had planned and hopefully finish by Friday.
